The Detours We Never Planned

The Detours We Never Planned

As we age, we think we have life figured out. We hope that the trials will be fewer and the valleys a little shorter, not so steep.

The truth is, it all depends on the decisions we make in life. In part, it’s our decision to stay where we are, even though we know it’s not healthy. Sometimes people bring trouble into our lives, and sometimes we make decisions that take us in directions we never expected.

I don’t know about you, but I’m an introvert. Very rarely in my life have I had a large group of close friends. From daycare to Bible College and now, even fewer.

Why?

Friendships that are real take energy. You have to be able to trust them, and them you. They take time, vulnerability, and a willingness to let people into your life.

In my life’s journey, I’ve had many detours.

Today is a major change in direction for my life.

What do I want to turn to in these times?
